Furnace Replacement Lake Elmo MN | How to Repair a Lennox Furnace?

Furnace Replacement Lake Elmo MNA Lennox furnace is a powerful and reliable heating system, but it may require some maintenance by a professional HVAC contractor. If you need to repair your Lennox furnace yourself, follow these steps: Furnace Replacement Lake Elmo MN

Check the Door

  • Check the door seal. Check to make sure that the door is tightly closed, and then check to see if any air is coming in or out around the edges of your furnace’s front panel.
  • Check the door latch. If you have an older model, this may be a simple plastic piece with some screws attached to it; it will generally be located just above the furnace blower motor assembly. If your current model has been installed correctly by a professional in Lennox’s network of certified technicians, then this piece should not need replacing unless there has been significant damage caused by misalignment or external forces that could cause it to become dislodged from its grooves during operation (in which case you should contact an HVAC expert). However, if any repairs need to be made here before using it again we recommend doing so immediately rather than waiting until later downtime when they might cause serious harm while running on full blast! Otherwise, just replace them outright as soon as possible!

Check the Gas Valve

Inspect the gas valve to make sure it is not leaking. If there are any signs of a leak, you will need to replace the entire valve. Check that the spring and lever are still in good shape and not broken. Inspect the handle of your Lennox furnace if it has one. You should be able to turn it on and off properly without breaking or bending anything inside. Finally, check for any type of damage in your seal around where everything is connected together in order to make sure no leaks were caused by something like this happening before you started working on them because then those would have caused a fire so don’t forget about them either!

Check the Pilot Light.

To do this, make sure the gas valve is turned off and that power to the furnace has been disconnected. Open the access panel on your furnace and look for a pilot light that looks like a matchstick. If it’s out, light it by using a Bic lighter or another fire source. If it’s already lit, then you can rest easy knowing you don’t have to repair anything!

Check the Air Filter

Check the air filter.

The air filter is the most common culprit of a broken furnace, and it’s easy to forget that it needs replacing regularly. If your furnace has been running longer than usual or if you notice that your home isn’t as warm as normal, check to see if the air filter needs cleaning or replacing (if it is dirty). An improperly functioning air filter can cause problems with heat distribution in your home, leading to higher utility bills and a dangerous buildup of carbon monoxide.

Check the Blower Belt

  • Check the belt for wear and tear. If it is worn out, replace it.
  • Adjust the belt tension. Make sure that it is tight enough to be in contact with both pulleys, but not so tight that it will break or pull away from one of them.
  • Look for frayed spots on the belt’s surface; if you see any, then you’ll need to replace it soon anyway—frays can get caught in between pulleys and cause damage to your furnace or worse yet damage an engine component like a fuel pump or blower motor!

Check for Soot on the Burners

  • Check for soot on the burners.
  • Clean burners if there is soot.
  • If no soot, check air filter.
  • Check blower belt if still no soot.

Check for a Cracked Heat Exchanger

  • Remove the heat exchanger and inspect it for cracks.
  • If you find a cracked heat exchanger, contact Lennox service to schedule an appointment to replace your furnace’s heat exchanger.

Repair a Lennox Furnace

If you have a Lennox furnace, it is pretty simple to repair a Lennox furnace if you know what to do.

First, remove the panel covering the motor and look at the belt. If it looks worn out, then remove it and replace it with another one (however, be sure that the new belt matches up with your model). You can purchase replacement belts from any local hardware store or online at Amazon for about $10-$15 dollars each depending on their length and width. The belts should come in different sizes based on their purpose (i.e., small for smaller motors). If there is no label attached about what size should go where then just measure them before purchasing so as not too get confused later when trying them out.* Second* Next step is checking out whether or not there are any loose screws anywhere around these components inside of this particular part of your machine which could potentially cause problems down road if left unchecked; just take note of what needs fixing here because once those things fall apart they could end up costing more money than they were worth originally!
